Twenty years is a long time to stick with one point of sale provider. For Hurricane's Grill, an independent steakhouse group with five restaurants across Sydney, it's been long enough to grow from a manual system through full automation, weather a restaurant fire, and come out the other side recommending Triniteq to anyone who asks.
Hurricane's Grill: A Sydney Steakhouse Institution
Hurricane's Grill has been serving steak and ribs for 31 years, built on old-school South African and Portuguese-style cooking. Laura Goldberg, CEO, runs the group's five restaurants across Sydney with Craig Goldberg, including Circular Quay, Brighton-Le-Sands, and Castle Hill. The business has worked with Triniteq for over 20 years, longer than most POS relationships in hospitality last.

The Challenge: A System That Could Keep Up and Keep Going
Two decades ago, Hurricane's Grill ran on a manual system. Growing to five venues meant the business needed a point of sale that could do more than take orders:
The PowerEPOS Solution
Hurricane's Grill moved from a manual system to a fully automated PowerEPOS setup, adding new capability as Triniteq released it rather than switching providers to get it.

Tested When It Mattered Most
In October 2024, a fire at the Circular Quay restaurant forced Hurricane's Grill to shut the system down fast. The restaurant stayed closed for 11 months. When it reopened, Triniteq re-onboarded the site quickly, without dragging out the return to service. On another occasion, when the restaurant's EFTPOS terminal went down mid-service, the Triniteq system kept running, letting staff reconcile payments that hadn't gone through instead of losing track of the day's trade.
"When our EFTPOS machine went down and Triniteq was still going, we were able to use the system to reconcile any payments that hadn't been made. It just made a real difference to us that we could continue using the POS even though our EFTPOS was down."

A Strong Endorsement for Growing Hospitality Groups
With expansion planned for the next couple of years, Hurricane's Grill Restaurant Group sees Triniteq as part of how that growth happens, not a hurdle to plan around.
"One thing that I would tell another business considering Triniteq is that their systems are reliable and fast, and their communication is really, really good."
