What is a KDS?

A kitchen display system that works with PowerEPOS

A kitchen display system (KDS) replaces paper dockets with a screen in your kitchen, bar or coffee station. Triniteq KDS shows each order as a digital docket the moment it's sent from PowerEPOS, with table numbers, covers, seats, courses and modifiers clearly marked.

Your team taps items as they're made, bumps the docket when it's ready, and can print a docket for the runner whenever they need one.

Any Windows touchscreen

Use a Windows touchscreen or tablet you already own, or pick one up from our hardware shop.

Runs on your local network

Orders reach the kitchen over your venue network, just like a kitchen printer.

Priced per screen

Add one screen or several. Pay monthly for each screen you run.

Part of TQ Platform

Developed by Triniteq and provided through TQ Platform, backed by our Australian-based support team.

How it works

From POS to pass in three steps

No paper to chase and no shouting across the kitchen. Every order lands on screen, in order, with a timer.

1

Send the order

Staff ring up the order on PowerEPOS as usual. Food and drinks go to the KDS the moment the order is sent or paid.

2

Make and tick off

The docket appears with its timer running. Tap each item as it's made and it's crossed off for everyone to see.

3

Bump and serve

Bump the finished docket off the screen. Print it for the runner, or send it on to a second screen at the pass.

Features

Kitchen display features built for real service

Designed with hospo workflows in mind, from quick service counters to table service with courses.

Item summary

Cook in batches with the item summary

Turn on the item summary and the KDS adds up every dish across your open dockets. If four orders each have an Italian sausage, the kitchen sees 4x and cooks them together. The totals drop as dockets are bumped.

Table service and courses

Seats, covers and courses on every docket

Table orders show the table number, covers and seat numbers, so runners know exactly who gets what. Turn on course headers to split starters from mains, and send "mains away" from the POS when the table is ready. It suits venues that call courses away and venues that fire everything at once.

Bump and recall

Bumped too early? Bring it straight back

Recall opens a history of recently bumped dockets with a preview of each one. Recall a docket and it returns to the screen with a purple recalled banner, so the team knows to check it again.

Works when the internet doesn't

Orders keep reaching the kitchen

Triniteq KDS runs on your venue's local network, the same way a kitchen printer does. If your internet connection drops, your terminals keep processing orders and the KDS keeps receiving them, as long as your local network is up.

It works alongside cloud-hybrid PowerEPOS, which keeps hospo venues trading through outages.

Hardware

Any Windows touchscreen or tablet

Triniteq KDS is designed for touch. Run it on any Windows touchscreen or Windows tablet, mounted on the wall or sitting on the bench.

  • Use a screen you already have, or browse our touchscreens
  • Print dockets to a POS thermal network printer
  • Add more screens as your kitchen grows

FAQ

Kitchen display screen FAQs

What is Triniteq KDS?

Triniteq KDS is a kitchen display system developed by Triniteq and provided through TQ Platform. It shows orders from PowerEPOS as digital dockets on a screen in your kitchen, bar or coffee station, so your team can tick off items, bump finished orders and recall them if needed.

Does Triniteq KDS work without internet?

Yes. Triniteq KDS runs on your local network like a kitchen printer. If the internet drops, orders keep reaching the KDS from your PowerEPOS terminals as long as your local network is still running.

Yes. Print any docket from the screen at any time, or turn on print when bumped to send a copy of each bumped docket to an ESC/POS thermal network printer.
